bark and blocksi image

Dear WSD Colleagues,

We love using Bark and Blocksi in our district to help keep students safe online! However, parents sometimes run into login issues or need help accessing their accounts. Today’s tip is all about guiding them to the right resources for support. Ensuring parents have access helps them stay informed and involved in their child’s digital safety!

Bark for Parents

Bark is a parental control tool that helps monitor kids' online activity for potential dangers like cyberbullying, predators, inappropriate content, and more. It works by scanning texts, emails, and social media for concerning content and alerting school officials and parents while respecting kids' privacy. Bark also offers screen time management and web filtering to help create a safer digital environment for children.

You can also find more information on our website at learn.wsd.net under the parent section.

Blocksi is a web filtering and monitoring tool that helps parents manage their child’s online activity. It allows parents to set screen time limits, block inappropriate content, and track internet usage across devices. Blocksi also provides reports on browsing history and can filter content based on age-appropriate settings to create a safer digital environment for kids.

Teacher Spotlight

On February 28th, we had the pleasure of hosting potential new student teachers from BYU-Idaho. They experienced a Unified Basketball game, school tours, DT&L activities, and classroom observations. We sincerely appreciate the administrators and teachers who helped make this day an incredible experience for these future educators.

Wrapping Up

By using both Bark and Blocksi, our district provides a comprehensive approach to digital safety, ensuring students are protected while giving parents the tools they need to stay informed and involved. With Bark monitoring for potential concerns and Blocksi managing content filtering and screen time, we create a safer, more manageable online experience for students. Encouraging parents to stay engaged and access support when needed helps us work together to promote responsible and secure digital learning environments.
